Parked car written off -...

This is a public story

Car parked on Bittaford Terrace written off by passing motorist in wet conditions. Possible structural damage to the building it was shunted into, 7m from it's original parking spot. Fortunately no one injured, but a young man has lost his very first car. Cause not yet established.

First Day As A Uniformed Peace...

Summer 1973- First Day in Uniform at the Scioto Co. Sheriff's Department (Portsmouth Ohio) after a year in Undercover Narcotics Investigation at age 19.
At 20-Worked 6 months as Jailer on Midnights and 6 months Dispatcher on Midnights and Afternoons. Then out on Patrol on the West Beat of the County.
All made possible by Dad! :-)
Even though I could then vote by a new Ohio law , thus be a Peace Officer-He had to buy my service gun and ammo...

WATER RESCUE ON THE PENOBSCOT...

Shortly before 1:00PM today, police and fire officials were notified of a man and woman standing on a flipped boat hollering for help.

The air temperature was about 58 degrees, so imagine the frigid water temps. Anyway, I grabbed my 300 long lens and headed for Cove Street. This is the area just across the river from Hughes Brothers construction company in Hampden. Initially, this is where the call came from.

Surprise:
As many of you may recall, City's Brewer and Bangor cooperated on building a Citizen Advisory committee back in February of 2010. It has come to my attention from an anonymous source, that several (three or more) persons have been in discussions in a clandestine setting.

BREWER CITY MANAGER BOST...

This January 2017 our Brewer City Manager Steve Bost beings his 18th year. He is the longest serving manager in our history. Steve was sworn in originally on 4 May 1999 just for a short while, as the City Council was in a bind, in that we needed somebody to oversee the city's operations as we had lost the presiding manager.

The last manager to serve such a lengthy time was the late Earle Stevens. Earle retired after about 16 years.
